The Atomium is a steel construction in Brussels that has 9 spheres. However, the spheres are (interestingly) not made from steel but are made from aluminium. Together, the spheres form the cubical crystal structure of iron. The structure is magnified 165 billion times. 5 of the 9 Spheres are usually open for the public. The Atomium was build in 1958 for the Brussels world exposition (Expo ’58), and has been restored between 2004 and 2006.

As in life, one sphere leads to another. The are connected with very long tubes. Most have an escalator, but some you just need to climb up the stairs! But the view from the top sphere is amazing.. Very well worth the effort. In another Sphere, the organization regularely hosts sleeping over parties. The sphere has beds in the form of spheres too. Pretty fun!
