The locals call the Sai Yok Noi waterfall “Nam TokKhaoPung”. The name KhaoPung means “crumbled mountain” and is based on the eroded limestone cliffs which became steep and descends down in many levels to the foothills. Up to 7 levels can be distinguished! At the top level, the water falls 15 meter down, after which the water spreads to flow down less steeply over the limestone rocks, like a triangle.

Close to the Sai Yok Noi waterfalls, there are other interesting places to go see. If you walk to the far right of the waterfall area, you will find a remaining piece of the Death Railway tracks. Furthermore, you can visit the Krasae Cave, which is a Buddhist shrine. You can find this cave near the Death Railway train tracks. To the West, you can find the Dawadung Cave, a secluded collection of stalactites.

As a note, if you are looking for peace and quiet, this may not be the place for you to go. It is a family area and there are many kids yelling and screaming and having fun throughout the day. If you have kids, it is a nice place to play around with them for some time. There is sufficient shade under the trees and although it is nature, there are many shallow waters areas to play in. Also, kids can rent rubber air bands, to slide down a calm ‘waterfall’ with. The waterfall itself however is very beautiful and worthy of a visit. Come early to beat the crowds.
